A bill in the Texas State Senate would require parental approval for a student's participation in human sexuality instruction in public schools.
The bill is sponsored by Sen. Donna Campbell (R-New Braunfels) Sen. Bryan Hughes (R- Mineola) and Sen. Drew Springer (R - Muenster) and is currently before the senate education committee. It has a companion bill in the state House of Representatives, HB 478, with multiple sponsors.
In a message posted on Twitter, Campbell said of the bill, "parental rights don't have an expiration date."
