Cruz Launches Probe Of Big Tech Censorship

Senate Commerce Committee Ranking Member Ted Cruz, R-Texas, vowed to investigate Big Tech's censorship of conservatives after Newsmax was dropped by AT&T DirecTV.

"Today as Ranking Member of the @SenateCommerce Committee I opened an investigation into Big Tech's censorship," Cruz tweeted Monday night. "We are going to see accountability, transparency, and we're going to shine a light on Big Tech's efforts to silence conservatives."

Fifth Circuit Reverses Block On Implementing Texas Internet Free Speech Bill

The Fifth Circuit has reversed a federal district court’s ruling that blocked implementation of HB 20, a Texas law that prevents social media networks from censoring users based upon the viewpoint of their online postings. 

The law also creates multiple requirements for the platforms to disclose to the public how they operate and requires that users be provided with an internal process to complain about censorship decisions.

Texas Joins Four States Alleging Google illegally Tracks Citizens

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton joined four other bipartisan attorneys general in suing Google for allegedly tracking users’ location data without their consent.

Texas filed its own lawsuit, filed Monday, alleging Google misled Texas users by continually tracking their location, even after users attempted to disable that feature.
