El Paso Launches Site To Track Illegal Immigrants

El Paso has launched a new online migrant dashboard as over 60,000 illegal border crossers have passed through the overwhelmed Texas city in the last six months.

The city’s new Migrant Situational Awareness Dashboard provides weekly statistics on the number of migrant encounters reported by federal agencies as well as data on those released into the community and the number of migrants provided services at El Paso’s Migrant Welcome Center.

Parties Call On Biden To Declare Very Different Emergencies

As the nation continues to navigate the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, several Texas Democrats and abortion advocates called on the Biden administration to take immediate and direct action to protect Texans’ access to abortion. Meanwhile, Republicans are demanding that by declare that an " invasion" is occurring at the border and take extraordinary axtions to protect the border from further incursions by illegal immigrants.

First on the Democrat's list of requests in a letter to the White House was for President Joe Biden to declare a public health emergency to ensure telehealth providers can dispense abortion-inducing medication without interruption.

The heavily-Republican Texas legislature passed what is known as a "trigger law" last year that, in the event of Roe v Wade being overturned, abortions would all but be eliminated in the state. That has now occurred, and Biden has since pledged that he would protect abortion in every state

Republicans site the US Constitution, which guarantees states protection from invasions as justification for calling on biden to declare one has been occurring. In 2022, record numbers of migrants have been seeing and captured along the US/Mexican border. The illegal migrants have been from mexico, Central america, the Middle East, and many other regions of the world.

GOP Candidates Reject Endorsement By Pro-Amnesty Group

Pete Flores, running in Texas Senate District 24, Mayes Middleton, a Senate District 11 candidate and Rep. Tan Parker, in Senate District 12, have publicly rejected endorsements from the political arm of The LIBRE Initiative.

They took issue with LIBRE’s support for a pathway to citizenship, amnesty, for illegal immigrants.

“I did not solicit the endorsement. I do not want the endorsement. I will not accept the endorsement. I reject it,” Flores said in a statement issued Monday. The other candidates made similar statements.

#Texas Democrat Says He'll Use Term "Illegal Alien"

A senior US House Democrat from a border district in Texas plans to use the term "illegal alien" despite the Biden administration's orders that federal immigration agents drop it in favor of language not seen as offensive by liberals.

"I can understand some people are trying to be a little bit more politically correct, but if you look at what the statutes say, they do use the word 'alien.' That's what the statute does, so until the statute changes, some of us will continue to be using the word 'alien' on that," Rep. Henry Cuellar told reporters during a video briefing Monday afternoon.

Biden and his administration have had other issues with words to describe what's occurring on the southern borders of the US.

Until recently, Biden has avoided the use of the term "crisis" to describe the massive number of illegal aliens entering the country on its southern border. He did use the word last week, but his press secretary immediately walked back his comments.

#Texas AG Paxton Defends Rule Limiting Immigrant Use Of Welfare Benefits

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is defending a rule that limits entry for immigrants based on their likely use of public benefits. 

"It cost the country billions of dollars," Paxton stated on "Sunday Morning Futures," on Fox News, "If we're going to invite people in, we've got to make sure they can take care of themselves and that they're not going to end up on food stamps and Medicaid and health care insurance from our country."

Paxton explained that the "public charge" rule, put in place to set boundaries on public assistance for immigrants, was never official until the Clinton administration federally enforced it. The rule was halted in 2020 after a court order.

Federal Judge Blocks Biden Deportation Ban Indefinitely

A federal judge has indefinitely banned the Biden administration from enforcing a 100-day moratorium on most deportations. U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton issued a preliminary injunction sought by Texas, which argued the moratorium violated federal law and risked imposing additional costs on the state, CBS reports.

Biden proposed the 100-day pause on deportations during his campaign as part of a larger review of immigration enforcement and an attempt to reverse the priorities of former Pres. Donald Trump.

Biden made good on the campaign pledge in the first days of his administration, when the Department of Homeland Security issued an order implementing the 100-day pause in deportations, ostensibly to review immigration policy. 

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton took Administration to court and won a delay in implementing the pause late last month.

#Texas Wins First Case Against Biden Administration, Halt Of Deportations Paused

The first lawsuit in the country brought against a Biden Administration executive order has been won by Texas.

Attorney General Ken Paxton sued in Federal court to halt the deportation of immigrants here illegally for a hundred days.

The Biden Administration had argued that they needed the time to re-evaluate policies and procedures relating to immigration. They argued in court that one presidential administration could not bind future administrations with agreements made with the states.

But Paxton had argued, in a letter sent to the Homeland Security Department, that agreements made between the Department of Homeland Security and the state of Texas required consultations that were not done in this case.

Texas U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton temporarily blocked an executive order Tuesday, issuing a restraining order that blocks the Biden policy nationwide for 14 days, reported the Epoch Times.

Paxton hailed the victory, saying on Twitter, 

“Texas is the FIRST state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden Admin. AND WE WON.”

“Within 6 days of Biden’s inauguration, Texas has HALTED his illegal deportation freeze. *This* was a seditious left-wing insurrection, And my team and I stopped it."

David Pekoske, acting Homeland Security secretary, issued a memorandum Jan. 20 directing authorities to focus on national security and public safety threats, but halting most deportations of illegal aliens for 100 days.

AG Paxton Threatens To Sue Over Biden Administration's "Pause" Of Illegal Alien Deportations

As expected, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is wasting no time in issuing legal challenges to policies coming from the Biden Administration.

Yesterday, Paxton put the Department of Homeland Security on notice for allegedly breaching agreements it had with the state of Texas by implementing a 100-day freeze on deporting nearly all illegal aliens. 

The agency says it is taking the action to review policy in the new Biden Administration.

But in a letter to acting DHS Secretary David Pekoske, Paxton called it a "complete abdication of the Department of Homeland Security’s obligation to enforce federal immigration law," and said it was, "unlawful and will seriously and irreparably harm the State of Texas and its citizens."

Pekosky's January 20th memorandum  (opens PDF) directed the DHS to impose “an immediate pause on removals of any noncitizen with a final order of removal for 100 days to go into effect as soon as practical and no later than January 22, 2021.” The memo listed several exceptions to the pause in deportations, among them National Security concerns and terrorism.

It also stated that the 100-day pause on certain removals would, "enable focusing the Department’s resources where they are most needed. The United States faces significant operational challenges at the southwest border as it is confronting the most serious global public health crisis in a century."

In response, Paxton argued that if this directive was left unchallenged, "DHS could attempt to renew that directive indefinitely or issue a similar directive for an even longer period of time. That would allow the Biden Administration to grant blanket amnesty to the vast majority of the illegal aliens in this country with the stroke of a pen and without congressional approval."

Texas has agreed to cooperate with the federal government in its execution of immigration enforcement. Paxton said DHS's pause in deportations, "violates our Agreement in multiple ways," among them being the failure to consult with Texas State officials.

Paxton ends his letter by threatening to take the Federal government to court to stop the pause with an injunction.

"We require an immediate response or we will seek relief to enjoin your order," he writes.
