Abbott Hands Letter To Biden During Border Visit: "You Failed"

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott hand-delivered a scathing message to President Biden Sunday as the commander-in-chief arrived in El Paso for his first visit to the US-Mexico border since taking office.

“Your visit to our southern border with Mexico today is $20 billion too little and two years too late,” Abbott said in a letter he handed to Biden as he stepped off Air Force One for a brief three-hour visit to El Paso, KWTX-TV reported.

“Moreover, your visit avoids the sites where mass illegal immigration occurs and sidesteps the thousands of angry Texas property owners whose lives have been destroyed by your border policies,” the letter reads.

Abbott Signs Executive Order Returning illegals to the Border

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has issued an Executive Order authorizing the Texas National Guard & Texas Dept. of Public Safety to return illegal immigrants to the border.

Abbott tweeted

"Cartels have become emboldened by Biden's open border policies.

Texas is taking unprecedented action to STOP this criminal enterprise."

Abbott Gets Border Patrol Endorsement

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has recurved the endorsement of  the national Border Patrol Council.

The Council announced their endorsement for Abbott Monday at the press conference, citing his efforts on the border.

Saturday, the governor made an appearance at the Hispanic Leadership Summit to officially announce his re-election campaign.

Abbott tweeted his thanks for the endorsement Monday.

"Texas will continue to work in collaboration with the men and women of the Border Patrol to make sure we do all we can to fulfill our commitment to America to keep our border secure.

Thank you, National Border Patrol Council, for the endorsement & for joining me in Edinburg today."

#Texas State Law Enforcement Officials Start Arresting Illegals For Trespassing

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has advised state law enforcement officials to begin arresting migrants crossing into the state on trespassing charges as part of a new initiative to mitigate illegal broader crossings, according to The Associated Press.

Authorities on Thursday announced that at least 10 people had been arrested at the border, with more to come, the news outlet noted.

Abbott first announced his plans to crack down on border crossings in June along with a commitment to follow through on former Pres. Trump's promise to complete building a wall at the southern border.

Border Patrol "Pay Fix" Bill Introduced

San Antonio Congressman Tony Gonzalez Dist. 23) has introduced bipartisan legislation with Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28) and Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (R-NM-02) to improve the overtime pay system for border patrol agents. The Border Patrol Agent Pay Reform Amendment Act of 2021 gives border patrol agents more flexibility in choosing their work schedules and how they receive overtime pay. 

This legislation is aimed at correcting bureaucratic inefficiencies that have previously kept border patrol agents from receiving due compensation for the demanding jobs they perform.
